Berwick Upon Tweed Skills Market Evidence Summary and Key Messages

The KSA Partnership-Northern Education have been engaged by Northumberland Strategic Partnership (NSP) and the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) to undertake the 'Development of the Learning Offer in Berwick-upon-Tweed', to underpin the wider social and economic regeneration of the Borough.

Supported by the Northumberland 14+ Network, Northumberland County Council and Berwick-Upon-Tweed Borough Council, this project has been specifically commissioned to build on previous work by FE Associates to deliver a coordinated learning offer across the full range of learners.

The aim of this project is to harness existing strengths to develop an educational offer 'better designed to meet the needs of young people, adults, communities and employers and secure world class learning provision in Berwick'.

The programme is in three phases:

As part of the first phase KSA has prepared a draft skills market assessment drawing on existing plans and documents. The NSP, LSC and KSA would welcome views on the Berwick Skills Market Assessment and on how we now move quickly to bringing a solution(s) which will meet what the community needs and which will work.

The Berwick Skills Market Assessment evidence summary can be downloaded below. The document begins with a list of some key questions that we are seeking your responses to. Please send your responses to the email address given in the document.
